A trophy celebration will be held in north London today after Arsenal beat Barcelona in the Women’s Champions League final.

Stina Blackstenius, scored what turned out to the the only goal of the game within seven minutes of being introduced to proceedings in Lisbon.

Blackstenius’ strike into the bottom corner following a fantastic reverse pass from fellow substitute Beth Mead ensured the Gunners were crowned champions of Europe for the first time since 2007.

Head coach Renee Slegers, who was only appointed on a permanent basis in January after an impressive spell as interim boss, becomes just the second manager of an English side to win the Women’s Champions League - after Vic Akers 18 years ago.

To mark the historic win, a trophy celebration that will be hosted by Arsenal legend, Alex Scott and Emirates Stadium host, Nigel Mitchell has been announced.

As a busy turnout is expected, Arsenal have warned that for safety reasons, capacity is 10,000. If capacity is reached, supporters will no longer be able to access the area.
