How’s your weekend looking? If plans remain unmade, get yourself to a gig.

There’s a mix this week, but it’s heavy with superstars. I mean, look, Beyoncé is in town — and so is Robbie Williams. Then there’s the Lido festival, Hamdi, Prozak, Skeptic and more, and then more besides that (including Tems, above). In other words, this is a week to get out and get yourself to the show. No hiding in the smoking corner of the club this week.

Here’s what’s happening this week (June 4-7).

Top pick: Lido festival

Victoria Park, June 6-7

Move over All Points East, someone’s trying to take your crown. Lido festival takes over Victoria Park’s Lido field this summer for a double whammy of big weekends. Massive Attack and Jamie xx headline on Friday and Saturday respectively with support acts Air, Yasiin Bey and The Alchemist are Forensics, and Tirzah on Friday and Arca, Sampha and Jamie’s The xx band mate Romy on Saturday. But that’s not all: Jamie’s day is full of insane back to backs, including Jamie xx b2b Skrillex, Jamie xx b2b Nia Archives, Shy FX b2b Tim Reaper and Todd Edwards b2b Bullet Tooth. There’s also DJ Harvey, DJ Gigola, Panda Bear, John Glacier and Villager. It’s like dying and going to DJ heaven.

Beyoncé

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, June 5

Beyoncé is back in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the second wave of her (rumoured) Renaissance trilogy, Cowboy Carter. She’ll be performing new hits such as 16 Carriages and Texas Hold ’Em, as well as old classics from previous eras. Expect the Tube to once again be littered with Stetsons, cowboy boots and assless chaps as the Beyhive flock towards their queen, pictured above. If all goes to plan, she’ll hopefully be back in a few years for Act III, but until then, get yourself down to the Spurs ground sharpish. After all: she’s that girl.

Honey Boulton

Seabird, June 6

Fancy a bit of jazz and a bite to eat but don’t fancy the shuffle through Soho? You’re in luck. Across six dates in June, July and August, Seabird, the rooftop restaurant above The Hoxton, Southwark, is playing host to Ronnie Scott’s jazz nights, with vodka cocktails and Iberian snacks. First up is New Zealand-born Honey Boulton, a jazz guitarist, banjo player and composer with a passion for swing and bebop. A perfect date night option, and a nice way to feel like you’re on holiday in your own city.

Tems

Troxy, June 5

Nigerian singer-songwriter Tems had an explosive 2024 with the release of her critically acclaimed debut album Born in the Wild, three Grammy nominations, a 41-date tour and full festival circuit. By the end of the year, even those who didn’t know her name were singing “Burniiiiing, burning and burning” over their kitchen hob every evening. Now she’s back in London for a show at Stepney venue Troxy, which is set to be filled with smooth, smooth R&B and soul.

Hamdi, Prozak, Skeptic + more

Koko, June 5

While it may sound like I just made all of these names up, or plucked them from a DJ name generator, I can vouch that they are all very real — and very good — producers. Hamdi is one of the biggest DJ names in dubstep, UKG and grime right now; Prozak blends trance and speed garage; and Skeptic has shades of dubstep, UKG and jungle. So if you like one, you’re bound to like them all, and they all happen to be playing at Koko in Camden. Gun fingers at the ready.

Redferns

Robbie Williams

Emirates Stadium, June 6

The queen may be gracing Tottenham on June 5, but the king is in Arsenal the following night — Robbie Williams will be at the Emirates Stadium to take fans through his extensive back catalogue of bangers (Angels, Let Me Entertain You, She’s The One, Feel, Rock DJ; need I say more?) plus a few of his new songs from upcoming Britpop album, Britpop (well, he’s never been a man of subtlety). Expect to leave the Emirates having been thoroughly entertained.
